- 1/1/09 - C/2007 N3 (Lulin). A morning comet visible to the naked eye
- 1/16/09 – M36, M37, M37. Triple points if you get all three.
- 1/21/09 – Uranus – You may to use this star chart.
- 2/13/09 – M81, M82. Double points if you get both
- 3/14/09 – M44. The Beehive Cluster!
- 3/15/09 – The International Space Station. Tell us the details of what you saw.
- 4/24/09 – M5. A bright globular in Serpens.
- 4/29/09 – M65, M66, and NGC3628 – The Leo Triplet. Triple points if you get all three!
- 5/19/09 – M3. A bright globular in Canes Venatici.
- 5/20/09 – Coma Berenices Star Cluster, aka Melotte 111 – An enormous naked eye star cluster.
- 5/21/09 – M13 and M92 – A pair of bright globular clusters in Hercules. Double points for both, obviously. But there is an additional 3 points for comparing them to each other in your report.
- 6/16/09 – M51 & NGC5195 – One of the Whirlpool Galaxies. See if you can spot the smudge that is NGC 5195. Double points if you do.
