Time is fleeting. Madness takes its toll.
March 16, 2024 – Day 1
Wait, wait. You can’t leave, you’re not home yet. Last time we losers published we were doing nothing in the rain but writing blog entries in Daisy State Park somewhere in Arkansas.
We wrote 8 blogs that day, blogs that you haven’t seen. Suspenseful music plays.
Until Now!
Let me ramble on some. Writing the blog goes like this. We have adventures and take 1,00,000 pictures. Then we park for the night, trim the pictures down to something manageable and Paul writes the blog. Then Susan tarts it up. That’s an exact quote, she’s sitting across from me and said “You’re the facts guy, I’m the tarty girl.” Then I edit some more, and she sleeps on it, and we give it a final look and click Publish.
Oh, the funny jokes are mine, not hers. (susan here: Nope. They’re ALL mine.)
We set a torrid pace getting back from Daisy State Park, barely leaving any time for the blog (susan here: let alone sleep, or, you know, FUN!) We got home. There was Thanksgiving. Then the rest of the holidays were upon us. And we, well, kind of sort of forgot about it. Until now. (susan here: cue the John Belushi & Dan Akroyd Blues Brothers music. We’re putting the band back together. OK, it’s just us two but you get the idea.)
So today is March 16, 2024. But I’m going to publish the date of this back in November 2023, just so those last entries make sense when you read the blog in timeline order. (susan here: actually we have a time machine and we’re just messing with you.)
And then I’ll write a blog for today. And Susan will do her tarty thing.
Oh, we’re in a parking lot in a brewery in Cairo New York (susan here: I’ve yet to see a pyramid or sphinx. I want my money back). But that’s for the “real” blog.
PS: In retrospect, I’m not sure we wrote all those blog on that rainy day, looking at the next days we may well have written them later. Oopsie!
