Day 1 Math is Easy
October 11, 2024 — Day 1
Keene, NH — Woodland Farm Brewery, Utica, NY
For this trip we’ll be less wordy, we’re trying to cut down on the amount of time blogging. Don’t feel bad for us, we’re living the dream. And, we’re doing the blog for ourselves also. But it does take a lot of time. So the format will be changing some, more photos, less words.
We got off to a late start, Paul’s friend Glenn came over in the morning to help debug the Jeep’s brakes, we got that working and headed out around 1:30pm.
8 days of meals, plus some extras. We’re planning on covering some ground quickly so cooking up a bunch of freezer meals is the way to go.
We finally got to photograph one of the two cow covered buildings in Troy NY.
We pulled into our Harvest Host, the Woodland Farm Brewery in Utica NY just as it was getting dark, had a great dinner and some fine beers there. If you recall from our last trip, this Harvest Host welcomed us as an emergency stop since the rain was making it hard to drive. They were closed, but they still didn’t mind. We’re glad we went back. They’re on a short list of places to stop again (and again!).
Oh, we have a new map. Paul’s brother, John, is also going to the wedding. He’s taking a train to Lafayette IN, then renting a car and driving to Phoenix. He’s the blue line, we’re the red line.
